Happy Labor Day!

We hope you all enjoyed your three day weekend!
This is our happy-just-woke-up-from-a-nap Delaney.

She is doing really well sitting up on her own. She is still learning that she can't throw herself backwards, but she enjoys the new perspective.

Delaney and her daddy.

(Thank you auntie Melissa for the cute shirt!)

Our little cutie pie.

Delaney and her sippy cup. She loves to play with it and chew on it, but she hates it when the liquid comes out. Kind of defeats the purpose, but we're working on it. She loves the cup and is getting more and more used to it.

How quickly they grow up!

It is amazing how quickly Delaney is growing up and it is hard for us to believe she is already 6 months old. She is so much fun to play with and she makes us laugh constantly.

Our little drool machine. Her hair is getting out of control.

She loves sitting up on her changing table. She finds the baby wipe container quite fascinating.

Five months old

It has been a while since we posted some new pictures of Delaney. She is getting so big and she has started to do new things all the time. She is teething now and we are just waiting for those teeth to finally poke through. She has gotten quite good at blowing spit bubbles as you can see by the picture below, but it also looks like she is just giving us the look "Blue Steel" from Zoolander.
Enjoying a little naked time on her activity mat.

We have had a few hot days here this summer and Delaney took advantage of it by trying out her new swimming pool. She seemed to enjoy it, but she also seemed confused as to why she was getting a bath outside.

Delaney and Dan. They haven't quite figured out how to get themselves out of this predicament yet, but Delaney has a blast up there.

Delaney loves, absolutely LOVES, the cats. They are not quite as fond of her. She liked to giggle, which turned to laughing, which to turned to squealing, which turned to all out screaming when she sees them. This has actually worked out ok with Max because he is deaf and can't hear her.

Feet have finally made their way into the mouth.

Delaney and I had a horrible cold/flu thing this past week. She was out of daycare from Friday until Thursday and I missed three days of work. She was running a pretty good fever, but she still liked to get up and play. Here we have her in her Exersaucer having a good time, even with a stuffy nose and fever.

MMMmmm...
squash.

We got her highchair all put together and she loves it. She loves being able to bang on the tray. Plus, I think she just loves sitting up high.

As promised... portraits

Well, I had promised the portraits a while ago, but our computer wasn't quite working there for a while. So, here are some of the portraits that we had taken. Delaney didn't give them too much to work with considering she melted down about 4 minutes into the photo shoot, but they did a great job of getting pictures here and there with her. Overall, we were pretty happy with the way they turned out.

So many new things...

It has been a while since we updated and a lot is going on. I have returned to work and Delaney has started daycare. It was very hard on me to trust someone else to watch her, but she is doing great and they really like her there. They are always telling me what a "delight" she is to have. She has adjusted really well and gets up in the morning and is ready to go. As for Delaney, she is rolling over now (both tummy to back and back to tummy), eating cereal, becoming much more vocal, and she has discovered her feet and is obsessed with trying to get them in her mouth (but they don't always cooperate). We went and had portraits done right after the 4th and I will post those once we get them. We are amazed at how fast she is growing up and just trying to enjoy every minute.
She has started cereal now and is doing really well on it. She gets about as much on her as she gets in her mouth, but she has a ball with it.

This is pure joy in her Exersaucer.

Delaney and I having some cuddle time.

Our little angel.

This is Riley and Delaney having another playdate. It has been over a month since I posted the last picture of them and they are both getting so big. Riley is 6 weeks younger but he already weighs more than Delaney. They seem to have fun looking at each other since that is really all they can do right now. It won't be long until they are crawling all over the place together!

This is Delaney trying out her crib for the first time. She loved laying in it. We worked hard at getting it put together (or rather her Grandpa Bell did) and she and I put all the bedding on it when Dan was in California and it looked so nice in her room. Two days later we got the e-mail from Babies R Us saying that the crib was recalled. We are just waiting on our voucher to get a new crib and then we get to do it all over again.

She loves her daddy. And it must be true because her bib even says it...

Delaney LOVES bathtime. She has discovered splashing and gets a great deal of enjoyment of kicking her legs and getting water in my face.

Gross!

Warning: not for those squeamish of baby puke!

We have gotten very used to baby puke in our household the last four months with Delaney having reflux. Most people who have held her for more than 5 minutes have also gotten puked on or at least caught it in the burp blankets (we had to upgrade to blankets from burp rags). But, by some stroke of luck, we actually captured the true nature of baby vomit in this picture. If you look closely, you can actually see the projectile food making its comeback.

The many faces of Delaney

We normally post nice little smiling pictures of Delaney like the one below, however, there are many more faces that are appearing. Some are nice, some not so nice. She has also found her voice and has learned how to "yell" when she is mad. "Yelling" consists of short bursts of ear-piercing screams to voice her dislike of things such as changing clothes and diapers. But, she is not too convincing when 2 seconds later she is grinning and cooing.
Here is our sweet little girl literally trying to bite the head off Pooh. Luckily, Pooh was spared and lives to see another day.

We have no idea what this face is...

The tongue sticking out is a constant thing now.

And finally, our little pirate baby. This actually was in the midst of a big grin, but somehow the camera captured this.
