Some January randoms

I haven't gotten to post much, but we haven't had too much going on. Delaney looks like a little warrior at the moment with all of her boo-boos. She smacked her cheek on the edge of the changing table and has a big bruise and then the next day when I picked her up from daycare, she had a big red mark on her forehead and a little cut on her nose. She learned the hard way that you can't crawl and push a bus at the same time. Poor little thing is learning that getting around is hard. She is pulling herself up on everything, so we know it is only the beginning of the bumps and bruises. She is pretty tough about it though.
We went out to dinner on the 14th for my stepmom Kim's birthday. We had a great time and Delaney loves her Auntie Maddie. Happy Birthday Kim!

Riding her little pony. She got the pony for Christmas and could barely sit on it and within a few days was rocking on it all by herself. It plays a little song (which is forever stuck in our heads) and she won't rock unless the song is playing. Thanks Andy and Nancy, she loves it.

My mom brought over a whole bunch of my wedding stuff including my veil. Delaney had fun playing with it so we tried it on. Now, she won't wear one again for many, many, many, MANY years.

This is the new I'm-going-to-squeeze-whatever-is-in-my-hand-into-a-million-pieces face. In this case, it was chicken.

Another new tooth

The day after Christmas, Delaney got another tooth. So that is two teeth in two weeks. (Notice the t-shirt - you can't see it, but underneath the beaver it says "Teething". Thanks Karen! It fits perfectly right now!). If you click on the picture, you can get a little glimpse of the teeth.

Some random Christmas pics!

We had a great Christmas. We spent time with family and ate good food. Delaney had a good time, although I think she got a little overwhelmed at times. We are so grateful for everything that we all received, especially Delaney. She is having a great time playing with her new toys and we really needed all her new clothes since she just keeps sprouting up. She had a little developmental spurt right before Christmas and starting crawling (not just her version of crawling that she had been doing) and now there is no stopping her. She is all over the place now. She is also pulling herself up on everything and is becoming more vocal every day. We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Opening a present with Dad on Christmas morning.

Helping with the Christmas baking. Well, just licking the spoon to make sure it would taste ok. And don't worry, no raw eggs in fudge.

Poor Rudolph never stood a chance. He will just have to fly without a nose.

This is Delaney's first Advent calendar. I have had one every year, so she needed to have one for her first Christmas. She had a lot of fun chewing on it. We wound up not even opening it until after Christmas because she had too much fun playing with it (and it was safer in the wrapper).

Playing under the Christmas tree. We were pretty lucky. Delaney liked the tree, but she really didn't mess with it too much. She would occasionally crawl up and touch it, but she really wasn't that interested.

Fun in the snow...take 2.

Well, this time we made sure Delaney was well rested and we tried the snow again. This time was much more of a success. Thursday we went out and pretty much just sat in it. All was fun until she did a face plant in the snow. We were done after that. It was starting to snow really hard then anyways, so it was a good time to go in. Friday we were able to spend a little more time out there and went for a little walk in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, Dan didn't get to participate in any of this. He left for work at 3 am on Thursday and had a route in Bellevue. They didn't get there until 2 pm. 405 was a standstill and for anyone who watched the news, that was the road they were telling people to stay off of. He wound up having to spend the night in a hotel up there and finished the route today. He finally got home around 6 pm tonight. We are glad he is home safe and sound. Since there is no chance of the snow going away anytime soon, at least he will be able to play outside tomorrow with us. Delaney's snowsuit is coming in handy sooner than we even expected. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Bell!

And this was what it looked like about 5 minutes after we came in the house. Brrrrrr!

And even more snow to play in on Friday!

Houston, we have a tooth!

Yes, Delaney's first tooth has FINALLY popped through. It has not been easy process and has caused some restless nights and unfinished meals lately, but it is finally poking through. You can barely see it and it is surrounded by incredibly red and swollen gums, but it has finally made its appearance! Only 4 days before she turns 10 months old. Hopefully, she will have a bit of an easier time with the next few. Now only a mouthful more to go!

Delaney's first snow

So, Delaney got to experience her first snow today. We had our first snow of the season. She really didn't seem to enjoy it too much (which you can see from the pictures). Granted, we had already been to the mall this afternoon and it was just before naptime, so I don't think she was in the mood. But, it was still worth documenting, so here it is.

Remember in the movie "A Christmas Story" when Ralphie's younger brother can't get up in his snow suit??
