The soggy zoo trip.

We took a trip to the zoo Saturday morning because the forecast didn't show rain and it wasn't 93 degrees anymore. However, it started raining on the way there. We debated turning around, but we were already there and Delaney wouldn't have been too happy just to take a car ride across town. The awesome thing about having an annual pass is that we went for just 45 minutes or so and didn't feel bad when we left.

Here is Delaney standing all by herself over in the goat area. We tried to spend the majority of the time in covered areas since it was raining. This was right after feeding the goats. She is so proud of herself for wandering over here, but this was also about 30 seconds before she bit it hard on the concrete. There were many tears, but by the time we wandered over to the meerkats she was good as gold.
We spent time with the goats. It is so different now that Delaney can walk around herself. She seems to enjoy it much more. She was able to walk up and pet the goats all by herself and she giggled the entire time. Here she is thinking that I was going to feed her the bite of goat food. Silly girl.

We checked out the meerkats. Now that Delaney is walking, she really wanted to spend more time here. We had our first zoo tantrum when we had to leave the meerkat cave. The first of many I am sure... (Ignore the fact that her diaper is totally hanging out. The kid has long legs so we buy bigger pants, but then they sag because she is long and lean. We still trying to figure out how to keep them up).

Eyeing the monkeys climbing the ropes.

The monkeys were chasing the porcupines around and it was hilarious. Ok well, Dan and I thought it was hilarious, Delaney found it interesting for about 12 seconds.

Finally back at the car. I think she was very ready to go (as we all were). Even soaking wet she is adorable though.
A wet trip to the zoo can really tire you out.
